Trail Conditions

WARNING - TRAIL CONDITIONS UPDATE: -- 31 January 2015 -- All the LDF trails are in good shape except on trail 17 where it crosses the Powell Marsh. The snow is getting very thin north and south of the Powell Marsh bridge. Gravel is showing through so make sure you slow down in this area. We did get 3" of new snow on Monday that has improved the conditions of all our trails. There is heavy traffic in the area during the weekend causing the trails to get pretty rough by the end of the day. The groomer is going out every night to get them ready for the next day. The club has marked the trails across the lakes and they are safe to ride on except for parts of Fence lake. The trail running across Fence lake from East to West is marked and open but the North and South trail is closed and will not be marked due to very deep slush. """WARNING""" A snowmobile went through the ice on Lake Placid near the channel which runs between Lake Placid and the south end of Fence Lake. This trail is closed, so please avoid this area. We will continue to monitor this trail and mark it when conditions improve. The weather forecast is showing high temperatures in the teens for this weekend so it looks like we will have another great weekend of snowmobiling in the Lac du Flambeau area. A big thanks to all those that stopped by the Trailside Inn and purchased a brat or bowl of chili from the Northern Hornshoe snowmobile club. Check out the LDF webcam for the latest snow depths. --- Slow down, stay to the right side of the trail and ride safe.
